Please Note:  Registration for Limmud is for the day’s activities. 
There is no prior selection of individual sessions.  
All sessions are open to all registered participants until all seats are filled.

The Rescue of Czech Torah Scrolls

As Temple Sholom President I travelled with our Czech Holocaust Torah to London, England for the 50th Commemorative Service of the arrival in London of 1,564 scrolls rescued from Prague at the end of the Second World War.

The tragedy of these extraordinary scrolls is that they are often the only surviving relics of some 153 Czech Jewish communities whose members were deported and exterminated in the Nazi death camps during the Second World War.

These precious scrolls have been given a second life by being lovingly restored and loaned to over 1,400 communities around the world.
