Please Note:  Registration for Limmud is for the day’s activities. 
There is no prior selection of individual sessions.

Jewish and Islamic Religious Feminism - Parallel Contemporary Trends
A surprising trend has emerged over the last decade, simultaneously in Orthodox Jewish and Muslim circles. Grassroots prayer groups offering women the possibility of active participation and prayer leadership are becoming increasingly common in both faiths, despite harsh criticism from traditional authorities. This session will review these developments and the controversy surrounding them, as evident in the quickest medium for response: religious Q&A websites.
